Novalux B-16 SYSTEM: the evolution of architectural lighting
Building on the L-16 SYSTEM by Cartoon Light, Novalux has introduced a new evolution: the B-16 SYSTEM, the suspended LED profile designed to combine direct and indirect lighting, modularity and minimalist design.
The new system inherits the compositional flexibility of the L-16 SYSTEM and reinterprets it through a slim, lightweight profile, capable of integrating micro-optics, adjustable LED spotlights and LED strips within a single solution.
The B-16 SYSTEM thus offers great freedom in lighting design, adapting to retail, hospitality, offices and contract environments.
B-16 SYSTEM: direct and indirect light in a single profile
The B-16 SYSTEM is an H-shaped profile designed for dual-emission lighting.
The system is suspended and allows for a combination of direct light towards the room and indirect light towards the ceiling, creating a more nuanced lighting effect and helping to enhance the architecture of the space.
The INDIRECT light consists of: LED strip + opal diffuser
The DIRECT light can accommodate various components:
- LED modules + micro-optics, for precise lighting and glare control
- Track modules + adjustable LED spotlights, to highlight specific elements and areas
- LED strip + diffuser, to create continuous lines of light.
- Solid cover, to alternate between lit and unlit sections
Dedicated power supplies and connectors allow any configuration to be created with a simple snap-fit, without the need for tools.
General lighting, accent lighting and indirect lighting can therefore coexist within the same system, whilst maintaining a consistent aesthetic.
From the L-16 SYSTEM to the B-16 SYSTEM
The B-16 SYSTEM stems directly from the experience gained with the L-16 SYSTEM, with which it shares the modular philosophy and various components.
The L-16 SYSTEM is a 24V lighting system integrated into plasterboard, designed to combine LED strips, micro-optic modules and track modules for adjustable spotlights.
Thanks to the same quick-connect joining elements as the B-16 SYSTEM, the various modules can be alternated in a continuous row, allowing for the creation of customised lighting configurations. It is also available in the L-16 SYSTEM WALL version, for installation on masonry.
B-16 SYSTEM retains this same design freedom, but introduces a fundamental difference: it takes the system out of the plasterboard and transforms it into a suspended lighting profile with direct and indirect light output.
